Try removing the device in Win2K and then reboot, let it detect it again and install the drivers. Then reboot again and see if it fixed it.

Gargomel7 12-29-2000, 12:45 AM I recently built a new system (AMD Thunderbird 1000mhz, Asus A7V MB, 384mb pc133 ram, toshiba dvd, yamaha burner, and 20.5gb Western Digital hard drive) It worked fine for about a month. Then all of a sudden I wasn't able to boot the system. The POST would go fine and would display as far as the devices installed and the irq's assigned. The floppy drive would click and then remain on. So i decided to put a non-bootable floppy in the drive. The system starts up fine and says non-system disk, remove and strike any key. So i remove it and strike a key and bingo i can boot into windows 2000. i checked my bios and tried to disable the floppy as a boot device, and that wouldn't allow the hd to boot. so then i thought maybe it could be a boot sector virus. ran a few antivirus programs (norton and mcafee) no virii found. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Gargomel7 01-01-2001, 08:04 PM Just wanted to bring the topic back up and see if anyone could help? thanks SysOpt.com
