It should give an output rating in watts. If the output is 200w or greater, it will probably run your 166. This depends on what other hardware you plan to run, CD-ROM, Gameport Joystick, anything internal... You will find the HD to be tereibly slow compared to the processor, but miles faster than the 386. Good Luck, Jim nimrod 03-26-1999, 06:58 PM ive got an old 286 case and original 200 watt power supply thats now got a t2 mobo/K6 2 300 66mhz/matrox 4mg mystique + m3d 4mg/ 36 cdrom /and 1.2 seagate. its great for the kids. Bud 03-26-1999, 07:09 PM You better check the voltage some of the older stuff only has 5 volt for the chip. Bud Nathan 03-26-1999, 10:40 PM Some of the older power supplies degrade over time too. A 200 watt supply was not common back then. My advise, if you're having trouble, spend $20.00 US and get a new supply. You can actually get a new mini tower with a 250 or 300 watt supply for around $30.00 and up. SysOpt.com
