Strange!

When I first installed about a week ago, they worked fine.

Now i can display the list of topics in the left box, select one and punch "display" and the right box just greys out with no text.By the way, system restore works fine from the initial help file screen. Don't ask how I know.

I used tweak UI to disable animations, but that wouldn't be it, would it?

I'm guessing that the fix is to reinstall ME over itself, but to avoid possibly swatting a housefly with a howitzer I thought I'd post here first.

is there a kinder, gentler way to restore the very extensive and excellent help file in ME?

Thanks,

mike

I'm sure there are others that can really help you out on this one, however, I thought I'll share my past problem with a help file.

I had installed NetObject's Fusion web creation software and Visio Drawing software. When I tried to view and search help within Fusion, it would not display anything. There was a conflict. It seems Visio's help files for some reason are called Fusion. So, I got support from NetObjects on how to tweak the Windows registry file to getting things working again.

Since your help files worked before...I would look at what you've installed since then that might be the cause of the problem.

Does the help files show as a component to install from the add/remove programs Windows Component screen (found in the control panel)?
