So I first tried this from the CD that i thought was good...so i was well HMMMMM disk is bad so I went and downloaded it agian. Got the same thing. Downloaded 3 or 4 more times and I just keep on getting it.

The error occurs at 60% and while installing ICQcore.dll

I NEED this program..........Because all the hot girls at school use it and I am missing OUT!! This is a crucial tool I need http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

go to www.icq.com (http://www.icq.com) and read there trouble shooting tips if you can not find any thing there try this

look in the windows folder for that .dll file and delete it then find the icq folder and delete it and clean any reg intries of the install if any and delete them make sure you back up your reg first

then try reinstalling http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I had a similiar problem while upgrading to a newer version. I uninstalled ICQ then deleted the directory and all its contents (should be called ICQ and located under program files on your "C" drive). Then reboot and reinstall a fresh copy of ICQ. You will lose any saved names. There is a way to back it up but I dont remember. Good luck!

I've always had a problem with their Database Converter - never worked right for me either when upgrading the version/build.

Recently though, I had to uninstall/reinstall ICQ. Since I had the database backed up on my second drive, I c&p'd the database folder over to the ICQ directory on my primary hdd and it worked. This was a reinstall of the same version/build I was already using. If you have the db folder backed up it's worth a try.

I know that older versions had problems installing correctly - it would take several tries, and I always had to start my db from scratch using the email or nickname search. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

Good luck!

I use a program called ICQ rescue to back up my contact list. It doesn't, however, work well with ICQ99b. If you have 99a, and back up your list, you need to re-install 99a, restore your list, then upgrade to 99b, run the converter. Worked for me.

I've got both versions of ICQ and ICQ rescue if anyone needs any of them.
