KT7-RAID
Duron 750
Win2K (SP1)

The string at the bottom of the POST screen is:
8/25/2000-8363-686A-6A6LMA19C-UL

The Highpoint BIOS is v1.0.0622.

I created a bios folder on the root of C: and added two files: awdflash.exe and kt7_ul.bin (which I downloaded from Abit).

I boot to "Safe Mode With Command Prompt", cd to bios, and key (at the command prompt): awdflash kt7_ul.bin /py /cc /sn /cd. I get a message in a dialog box: “The program file’s part number does not match with your system”. I then rerun the command and add the /f switch. The dialog prompts me for the BIOS file, which I give it, but nothing happens. I reboot and nothing's changed.

How can I update my bios?

Check the newest readme file concerning your BIOS. AWDFLASH has changed some of the / switches.

yuo are trying to flash the same version as is already on the board "UL" being the version you listed. Also, to the best of my knowledge (I have been wrong before http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif)unless Im misreading your post, you are trying to flash from the c drive? I dont think thats gonna work. Ive always had to boot using a bootdisk and having awdflash and the bin file on the floppy. Like I said before, maybe you know something that I dont..give us an update please...steve
p.s. I just checked the abit site and thats the newest version on the mobo already

Um, did you say 2K? well, to the best of my knowledge you want to use a DOS boot disk instead. Command Prompt of 2K is still 2K, just w/o the shell loaded. I'd try getting a dos boot disk first. There should be images of them on the net.

Thanks guys!

I made a boot floppy from my Win95 system and used that to boot Win2K. I tried to cd to the C: drive (where the flash utility and bin file were located) but could not. Then I realized that my entire filesystem is NTFS which DOS knows nothing about. So I put everything on the floppy. Problem solved.
