I just upgraded this system for my freind and everything works fine bar
the Graphics card.
Here's the specs
FIC VA-503+
K6-2 500
64MB
Win 95B with AMD patch
Win recognizes the S3 V64+ as a standard PCI VGA card and it works as
such. But when I load what I beleive are the correct reference drivers
from the S3 support site I get a yellow exclaimation mark against the
card in Device Manager. It says it's either not their, not working
properly(!), or doesn't have all the drivers loaded.
I got the actual manufacturer from the FCC id number on the board but they don't have the driver on their site(!).

Anyone know of any probs with the above combination? or have any other
advice?
Some quick response would be very much appreciated as this freind wants
it upgrading as a Christmas present for her son and this is my only
barrier to it being finished.
Thanks in advance.
John

Johnski,

Why WIn95? WIn98se has drivers for this card that work fine.

First off...the S3 is a problem at the best of times. It sounds to me like you don;t have the right driver. Also look for a IRQ conflict as some PCI slots share IRQ...I generally like to keep the one next to my video card empty. I'd look for the proper driver first though. Try here...

and make sure you pick the EXACT model. Hope this helps...Fudge

As was said above, go into Device Manager and fix any interrupt conflicts associated with the card.
