Hmmmmm, I was wondering why my system would hang from time to time when I did a full scan on all my hard drives. It appears that there is an issue with NTFS partitions:


Symantec has identified an issue regarding boot record scanning on some computers running Norton AntiVirus¢â 2000 on Windows 2000 with virus definitions dated June 30, 2000.

On Windows 2000 systems that use NTFS and certain high-performance hard drive controllers, Norton AntiVirus¢â will occasionally lock-up while scanning boot records. The cause of the problem has been identified and an update is currently being tested. The update will be released shortly
