Window error message

Hi, I get an error message as: a fetal exception OD has occurreda at 0028:C004F0F8 in VXD VMCDD (01) + 00000368... and my computer stuck at there. Can anyone help.
This is my first experience of building PC.
I have Tyan 1857, PIII 650, and only CD, Floppy, and I/O Magic video card(PCI) installed. Thanks

Check your IRQ's in the bios setup. Select defaults in the bios setting's if unsure.

Try this and see how you get on.

A vxd is a virtual device driver for a program or hardware.

When did this start happening? What have you installed when this happend?

What Operating System are U using? Did you install the operating system after you built the computer OR did you just move a hard drive from one computer to this computer without reinstalling the operating system? I would consider a clean install of the operating system. Two other things ... will the computer boot up in Safe Mode ? (assuming Win 95 or Win98)AND have you tried setting BIOS defaults?

This is a new system I am trying to build.
I already check video card, memory, hd. It happens exactly in last step of win 98 installation (check for any hardware) and I only have video card on. Any suggestions?
