You certainly COULD flash it, but I very much doubt it would boot back up. You can't "extend" your hardware by putting in a different BIOS -- unless it's an updated BIOS for THAT motherboard.

Hellhound 12-04-2000, 12:10 AM I Have an Old compaq 4540..It Has 16 megs of ram welded to the mobo..and only one slot that will hold (recognise) a max of 32megs of sdram....I think the Pheonix bios is limiting the amount of ram that it can hold....My question is this...could i possibly flash it with a newer bios for a different but similar board...one that will handle a 128or 64 meg shtick of sdram? SysOpt.com
