Can anyone help? I'm trying to install a Powerleap K62/400 upgrade processor into a QDI Titanium IB motherboard running an Award BIOS dated 11/27/97. Every time I boot-up, the BIOS executes the post operation, checks the memory and then starts all over. If I hit the escape key at exactly the right time I can boot into Windows (WIN95-SR2). If I hit the delete key at exactly the right time I can get into the BIOS. It seems to be a timing issue but I don't know how to fix.

Any ideas, comments or suggestions?

Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Have you flashed to the latest BIOS for that board?

Windowss 95 cannot cope with AMD processors over 300, there is a patch on the Microsoft website to cure this, yes it is timing.

Start here:

Find your motherboard and see what it supports. Then check manufacturers' site for bios upgrade to support the processor of your choice. I have a K-6 300 @350 but to go higher I need to flash my Bios. When the new 18 micron chips come I wiil decide which one I want and install necessary bios upgrade. Also get the support foer Win 95 mentioned on earlier post. good luck
