I'm changing to ISDN with my ISP and not sure which components to buy.
Should I get an ISDN modem or get a Router and network card.. They recommended the Router for faster connection.
He also recommended a router from Netgear.
Appreciate any info..
Thanks,
Scottie

If you are only going to use the ISDN line on a single computer, I recommend using an ISDN modem (terminal adapter) I use the Diamond Supra Netcommander. Its an internal card with 1 pots jack for a phone, fax etc. I have been using this card for over 1 year, and am very happy with it. Very easy to configure. If you go with an external modem, you are limited to 98k on some serial ports. I have had download speeds as high as 19kb/s with this setup. If was going to go with an external , I would use the Ascend Pipeline 15
terminal adapter. It has a built in NT1 and 2 POTS ports. alot of other features. I have seen them for around $250

What if you had a LAN already setup with Novell networking and a server, with about 10-12 workstations throughout the office, what kind of equipment and effort would it require to proxy or whatever an ISDN line for everyone to use! I don't know alot about networking that sort of thing, only the basics! Thanks for any replies! Also if anyone else has any suggestions on another way to allow internet access to such a small LAN cheaply, please advise!!!
