monitor goes black

every time I turn on my monitor it works about 15 minutes then it goes black .all lights are still on but picture goes black.

Problem: This is a sure sign of component failure. Take your monitor to a repairer.

Does this happen while you are using the computer, or does it happen if you leave it idle for that period of time?

Before taking your monitor to an expensive repair shop, do a bit of homework. i.e. try your monitor on another P.C., try a different monitor on your P.C.

If you do the switcherooney and you find that the monitor is in fact bad ,buy a new one if its an old one because there are much better monitors out there for the bucks it will cost you to fix it vs what its worth!

it does this when im working on it,the thing is i just had a new motherboard put on it.

Are you comfortable going inside your computer? If so, check all the components to besure theyr;e seated properly, such as the video card, memory CPU fan and CPU. Also turn the computer on with the case off and chcheck to see that all the fans are spinning.
If your'e not comfortable inside, then take it back to the person who put the motherboard in, it's possible something was put in wrong.
