Hello,
I have the choice of getting a Voodoo3 3000 or a TNT2 (not ultra) for the same price. The computer is used for DVD, Games, 2D, CAD, basicaly everything.

Which one would be the best choice?

I believe it is a Creative model.

Thanks,

Considering you do quite a bit more than just game, you should be aware of some things:

- Voodoo does NOT do 24 or 32-bit color. TNT2 does 32-bit very well.

- The TNT2 has functional FULL ICD OpenGL drivers. AFAIK 3dfx still does not have this (they only have minigl driver. But look into it, I might be wrong.)

- The V3 has 16mb on board. The TNT2 has 32mb on board.

I see.

What about the DVD?

AFAIK, the TNT2s don't have any hardware assisting (well the TNT2 that I already have doesn't seem to have). The V3 is supposed to have it..

If your PC is anyware over the 266-333mhz speed mark, then you don't need DVD assist at all. I think the TNT2 offers assist, though I could be wrong.

I know I don't but seeing my RC5 keyrate drop to something a P133 would get with nothing running makes me mad. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
