I just bought an Asus A7V Motherboard with an 800Mhz Athlon Sckt A CPU. I still need to attach the heatsink (Coolermaster DP5-6H51) to the processor and get it on the mobo.
I also have these parts ready to install.
- Voodoo 4 4500 AGP
- Wester digital 40GB 7200rpm ATA/ 100 HD
- Yamaha CDW2100EX 16X/10X/40X CD-R Drive
- a regular 3.5' Floppy drive
- another 15.3 GB 7200rpm ATA/66 HD (WD)
I think thats it for now. I am going to buy a sound card next week. the motherboard doesn't come with intergrated audio. I do not plan to overclock, because I am not that skilled at computers yet.
So if anyone could help me and tell me if I need to configure the motherboard any special way for these parts or leave it the way it is.
I read the manual and it has everything setup basically by defualt. It is set for Jumper-Free mode, so I will need to setup in the BIOS. But that parts in the manual.
I would really appreciate any help on how to do this. If you need more info just ask.
Thanks a lot!
oh yeah I also have 128MB PC-133 RAM chip and an old 128 MB PC-100 RAM chip.
Is this OK??
THanks a lot!
I really really appreciate it!!
*Or if you know any sites on the web that can help me along that would be great to!
I just dont want to screw anything up.
THanks again!
