I copied up My Documents to a CD, to move them to another PC, but when I try to edit webpages that I've moved, I can't save the changes. ... I get a message I can't save to this file ... I should change the name. ... I have too many files to do that too.
How can you copy files to a CD without the files keeping their old directory designation?

When you burn a cd any file on it becomes read only, and when you move them from cd to hard drive they are still read only. that's why you can't save changes.
after you put them onto you hard drive, right click your files, click on properties, uncheck read only and check archive.
you will have to do this for every file, unless you are running win ME. In ME you can right click a folder and it will give you the option to include the files in it.
remember to do all folders also.
If there are alot of file you can open a folder and hit ctrl and A to select all the files then go to properties and change the attributes for all of them.
