Everything is installed and working properly... except for the MIC & RCA connections on the LiveDrive. If I plug into the sound card directly (thru the back of the tower instead of the LiveDrive), there are no problems. Why aren't these two connectors working? The headphones jack works thru the LiveDrive though. I made sure the volume was on and that the MIC wasn't muted in Win98se. There's only 1 data cable connection to the LiveDrive and its power source right? What could be the problem?

rh71 try; Programs/Creative/SoundBlasterLive/AudioHQ/DeviceControls then the Digital I/O tab. BTW did you get a jumper clip in the bag of hardware?

Yes, I believe it did come with a jumper. Is there a setting somewhere I should make sure about or should have set?

By the way, SPDIF bypass is not enabled in that Digital I/O tab you asked me to check. What is it supposed to be? It's the only option there...

For the MIC to work front panel on the Sound Blaster Audio Rack, you have to enable MIC-2 from your Volume Contol Panel. The MIC input on the back from the sound card is MIC-1 and the MIC input from the Audio Rack is MIC-2. If you don't see in option for MIC-2, just click on recording properties and check off the MIC-2 to show the control slider on the volume control.

As for the speaker not working, maybe because you have the speaker in the back still plugged in which disables the speaker out on the front on the Audio Rack. You can't use both speaker outputs simutaneously.

Tell me how it goes, and we will go from there. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

rh71 what kind of device/signal are you trying to connect(MIDI, analog or digital)? pg.15(Device Controls) and pg.35(Recording and Content Authoring) of the manual explain the connections although not very well, as for the jumper I think it goes on J3 between the TAD connection and the digital out jack(pg.34)-manual is not clear on that either(arrgghh!).

You shouldn't need to fiddle around with the jumper settings. At least I didn't have to, worked great as soon as it was installed. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

NDC I haven't used the clip but what is it for? The manual, their web site and the online manual don't say. The only thing I could guess is the optional digital output module or maybe Creative's PC-DVD MPEG2 decoder. It's like building IKEA furniture and having hardware leftover(hehehe).
