I am not sure but are you using Win98 or WinME on the original system with the dual boot?

Remove the secnd hdd if you do not want it affected (may or may not affect it...not sure)

Boot with a Win98 boot disk and add format.exe
type
format /mbr
that should take care of it. It will reset the master boot record. That and uninstall it from Windows.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes it is ME on the drive I want to keep (C) & Linux on the other (D).

Will resetting the MBR leave the operating system & data untouched?

Thanks again.

I will soon be building a new machine but only using the C drive from my old dual boot setup (containing Win ME).

However the old machine had a second drive with Linux (Mandrake 7.1) on it which will be going in an old router.

My question is how can I remove the boot manager from the C drive so I can use ME on its own on the new machine?

Thanks in advance.
