I just got this drive and after updating the firmware my dae speed dropped down to 4x. After talking with teac tech support and installing and reading the readme with the download file, not the program help, I found out that the utility sent with the new rev3 firmware lets you set the dae speed for the drive to 4x, 16x, 32x, my drive had errors at 32 but 16x works perfectly. Just to let other people that have had the same problem know. Also teac's tech support was fast and courteous in answering me.
