I have a BX6 V2 motherboard that has 2 USB ports. What are these best used for? Will they actually speed up or improve the performance of my printer, modem etc? What is needed to use them and lastly, where can I get more info on USBs.
Thanks in advance!

Good question.

It's not going to speed up any modem, printer or scanner in production.

The cabling may seem more convenient to someone.

After thought...
Oh.
Got one.
A USB digital camera!

I think the best part is not having to worry about IRQ's. If you ever get a digital camera, I would suggest getting one that is USB. I have one that hooks up to a serial port and it takes forever to download. USB scanners and printers won't be much faster than parallel port ones but they will probably be easier to hook up.

I really don't know how much USB will take off. As others have mentioned, it's great for the digital cameras. But by the end of the year(?) the new motherboards will be out with no ISA slots. That is suppose to give us more IRQ's.
