I have built many pc's and most mobo's come with an update for the bios. Why is this?
Is it necessary to do it? Why didn't the manufacturerrrr do it prior to shipping?

Do they want us to send it back when we fail to update correctly so they can have a laugh?

Ric.

They have BIOS updates for various reasons. It may be for a higher CPU support, new features for the BIOS, support for Win2k, etc. It could also be an update for certain problems with the mainboard.

If you feel that you aren't having any problems with the current BIOS, it would not be necessary http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

But personally, I like to keep my BIOS, Device Drivers, etc. upto date. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
