Anyone else having trouble burning to 80 minute CD-Rs ??? The last batch I tried to burn failed, and the ones that did burn successfully give read errors and are largely un-accessable despite a file or two.
My burner is a generic type (maxis), not the best burner in the world, but it works. It has no trouble with 74 minute CD's, but for the odd coaster of course.
Just wondering if there's some trick to 80 minute CD's, whether you need to enable something or get a patch to have them burn properly... I'm not going over the 74 minute/650 mb mark, cos I know that the burner can't handle it without turning off the safety limit.

My Adaptec 4 works fine with 700MB discs, what software are you using? BTW, why use 80min/700MB discs if you're only going to use 74min/650MB(are they cheaper in your area)?

I was originally going to use them at full capacity, then i found out I couldn't without possibly damaging my burner.
I got a stack of 50 for $29.95 (canadian), a great deal in my area. The first few worked, for data, but audio ones would come out unplayable. Then my system went buggy and I burned some that didn't work. I thought it was because of my system screw-up, but even after a clean hard drive format, windows reinstall, my burner just don't like those 80 minute ones.
The software I've tried is Nero 4.0 (which worked fine previously) and Adaptec Easy CD, which had the same problem. Sigh...
