i have this problem where my microphone (which is physically mounted on my monitor) works while my comp is booting up or powering up but when it completely gets into Windows 2000 like after "Administrator" log on it stops working...?!?
what could be causing this?
any help would be appreciated...

thanks

i couldn't get my mic to ever work but there was one way that see to get it working. try this. have you used net meeting before?? load it up then click on tools then on audio tuning wizard. go thru the step by step process and see if that works. Also what type of monitor is it??

Have you double clicked on your volume control in the task bar and gone in to properties and unchecked the mute box for the MIC in the play properties? You will also need to go into the record properties and check the MIC to activate it.

Can you hear your voice over the speaker when you speak through the mic?

Also check to make sure that the MIC has been enabled on your soundcard software if there was a bundled software that was accompanied with your soundcard. I'v seen some bundled softwares that don't sync with the settings of the microsoft volume settings.

BTW, you did select the MIC for selected device in the properties for record properties as I told you above, right????

Tell me how it goes....
