How many devices typically can a 230W power supply support. I have the following

2 hard-drives
1 floppy
1 cdrom drive
1 3-pin fan (connected to mobo)
1 4-pin fan (connected to power supply)

I want to add 1 4-pin dual fan box that fits in a 5.25' bay and 1 3-pin fan to the above. Will my system be able to support it, and if it can, what else can I add before I need to get a larger power supply??

well with a 250W PS i have 2 hard drives, 1 cd rom, 1.44 and a 5.25 floppys, 1 dual fan hard drive cooler 1 y-tech heat sink fan 1 sunon 60mm fan in case both hooked to the mobo, and 3 80mm case fans and I still got a little power to spare. you can add up all the power needs of the things your plugging in or you can just try it and see what happens /forum/smile.gif
for the most part fans dont draw that much power if you where going to hok a pelter up to that power supply I'd say get a bigger one but you should be ok like you are /forum/smile.gif

W/ my old 200W, I had one 6cm fan, 2 4cm fans, 1 8cm fans, 2 HDD's, 1FDD, 2CD-ROM drives, AGP vid, PCI sound, Ethernet Adapt., two internal modems(PCI and ISA). It operated 18 hrs a day for about a year. no problems...

*not counting another fan on the PS.
