Basically the OS has performed an illegal operation. It is either an OS or an IE problem. First try reinstalling IE or upgrade to IE 5.5 if you haven't already. Then, if that doesn't work, clean your registry with a utility program like regclean or Norton Util or something of the like. I cannot stress enough though, to stay away from McAfee utilities like Nuts and Bolts. They will wreak more havok than anything you ever installed. If that doesn't work, then...come back. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Are you overclocking your system? What do you have running in your system tray? What are your system specs?

I use Netscape 4.7 and get the same message on occasion. The VXD is referring to the virtual display which I believe is connected to the virtual memory....anyway, I get it on occasion and have to reboot. It seems to happen most when I am jumping around from window to window and confuse my browser. It doesn`t seem to affect anything else.

Mstcp.vxd is a virtual DEVICE associated w/your Network devices -- specifically the TCP/IP adapter. You may need to remove & reinstall at least your TCP/IP adapter from Control Panel/ Network.
