Just got myself Windows 2000 and have installed it on my PC, downloaded the latest drivers for the Soundblaster Live Value for Win2K from Creative and installed them. They worked well except for whenever I played sound I would get crackles and pops as well. I have tried the drivers supplied with Win2K and the previous version of the SBLV drivers with no success. I also dual boot with Windows 98 in which I get no problems with crackle or pop.
This Problem also seems to slow down my games as whenever the sound pops or crackles the game jerks.
I have a Pentium 2 350
128mb PC100 ram
6.4 GB HD
HP 8250i CDRW
Encore 5x DVD with DXR2 (which i cant get working in Win2K either)
ASUS 3800U
Sound Blaster Live Value v1

I am sorry that I cannot help but I thought I would give you a bump up on the list. My SBLive! Value works great under Win2K. Are there any IRQ conflicts that arise under Win2K that are not there in Win98? I bet that is the problem. The drivers work great for me. And your hardware is not the issue sinc eit works fine in 98. Check the IRQ settings and try to get the SBLive on an IRQ by itself or shared with the USB.
Dave

No conflicts and the SBLV is on its own IRQ. What drivers are you using Dave?

A friend suggested reomving the new Detonator drivers I installed, but it wasn't that either
