Has any one else out there tried rel 2 yet,

as yet I am still playing with it on a new build sys which I installed 98 on to see how it overlay orig op sys,

it took 3 hours for it to instll over top and crashed within 5 minutes,

however Daniels has yet to find any games that faze it yet. /forum/smile.gif

shortly I will format the hard drive and try clean install to see how it goes. /forum/biggrin.gif

Main thing I have noticed is it's memory hungry /forum/frown.gif

On one computer I have Win2000 Server and on the other its professional. They have never crashed! Not even once! I can the computers on forever now, and have no worries. It rocks!

Hi Adam I haven't put server on yet also have yet to try advanced server,

Did you instal on clean hard drives or try running as upgrade?

As this is some thing I wish to try shortly,

By the way have you accessed there respective info's on CD's yet.

At present it works fine at 64mb but if you steal 32mb of ram out of sys it's as unstable as h@@l

WW,

I would say if you have a copy of Win2K RC2 or RC3 LOAD THAT PUPPY UP! I love it currently running RC2 pro and advanced server. It has supported ALL of my hardware (except for a old printer port scanner! which I heard RC3 and the final does/should)
Just about all of my software worked as well and thoses that dont are not really a loss as there is better software out now that does what they did! /forum/smile.gif

btw. I have advanced server on a clean install (only OS) and the Pro is dual/triple booting on my main system and is now being used about 65%-70% of the time /forum/smile.gif

I've got beta 3 advanced server, professional, and student materials. In the 2000 Pro class I took, we also got Drive Image Pro 3.0 to take with us. It's really different than 4, but has a lot of potential. The ghosting part of the installation is nice too, but complicated.

What memory's have you installed and have you yet tried it out with different amounts to see if you can stress them OS yet.

After intial crashes with win2k pro system I find it runs stable after you have more than 64mg. I am trying to find its weak spots, I am also fnding it hard to find any at the moment. /forum/smile.gif

I will agree with you WW. I haven't tested it below 64 MB. The highest is 196MB.

We never had any crashes yet. However with some of the older devices, I'm sure there will be some. How much disk space did it take up after the workstation install? Ours was 710MB.

I'm thinking about installing Win2k Pro Beta on my machine and I was wondering if it would run under 32mb Ram systems? Also, will it run Win95 games, like Unreal, etc..? Thanx /forum/smile.gif

If I remeber right when I tried it at 32mgs it left something like 4.5 mg free in system so its not good below 64mg I think a fair mem requirement will be 128mg as a min.
I will shortly try it at 256mg to see how it improves, but wish to do format and clean install for this. I must admit it looks good so far apart from the mem it hogs. /forum/smile.gif

As for the amount of space it takes up I'll let you know when I do clean install Nathan /forum/wink.gif
