I just got my DSL kit from SBC (it's a miracle)

it has instructions on how to install the filters and everything. that's easit i know how to do that i can also install the ethernet card but the thing is, i have a 250W power supply and I have a CD-ROM, CD-RW,15GB Maxtor HD, Iomega Zip 250, and Floppy drive installed.

my computer and my monitor are all pluged into the same AC outlet, because in this room there are 3 outlets and I'm pretty sure that they share power, so it wouldn't make any difference if i switched them to a different outlet. I have my 15W stereo and 5-disc CD-player also hooked upto the AC outlet and, i almost forgot, the monitor.

These things are all wasting power and now i have to plug in a DSL modem as well, I just dont think they'll be enough power, I want to unistall my Zip drive, maybe that will free up power, because I never use it anyway with CD-RW.

so i guess what I'm asking is will unistalling the Zip Drive provide enough power for my DSL modem and ethernet card?

or does anyone have any other sugestions?
I would really appeciate it if someone could help me out see if i could esolve this problem.

thanks!

If needed i could also sacrifice my regular CD-ROM and stick with the CD-RW.

I am also thingking of buting a new Tower and a 300W power and moving my computer to another room, if all else fails.

thanks again!
loking forward to reply.

The stuff inside the computer should be OK. It really depends on the quality of the power supply and how many devices you use at the same time but it really shouldn't matter in your instance.

As to the AC power in the room. You need to find out how many amps the circuit is rated for then add up how many amps all the stuff in the room uses and see which is the bigger number.
