Gotta choose a scanner for my parents. Narrowed it down to about 6 models (below). Trouble is that (a) can't find comparison reviews for some of these, and (b) the reviews I found totally contradict each other! Eg one says a particular scanner is really slow, t'other says its the fastest they've seen! And they're reviewing the identical models! WTH?
So...does anyone have reliable info to point me towards so I can actually make a freakin' decision!
Scanners considered:
Agfa 1212U (said to have poor software/drivers/support)
HP 4200C?
Umax 1220U or 2000U
Devcom (Black Widow) 9636U
Epson GT-7000, Perfection 610 or Perfection 1200 (altho that's strecthing the budget)
To run on a newly-installed P3-500 Win98 system. Accurate (non-exaggerated!) colour/greyscale/line accuracy important, not too slow, and if possible with transparency holder included.
