My desktop always brings up that annoying channel bar every time I boot up. Im not viewing my desktop as a webpage, and I choose the option "No" every time it asks me whether I want it to reapear when I boot. Its either lying to my face or ignoring my response. How can I kill it once and for all?

HAL, can you say CTRL-ALT-DEL? Don't make me power your *ss down.

Basically there exists a few place to load software everytime winders boots.

The Startup Folder (Start, Programs, Startup).
Autoexec.bat (not in NT/W2k)
win.ini (resides in winders directory, load=, run=)
The registry (Run, RunOnce, RunServiceskeys).

I'm guessing the registry or startup folder...
