Just a small family gathering here. I hope you all have a great and safe Thanksgiving this year!

Same here.

I'm cooking the turkey again this year. The white meat falls off the bone, literly when it's done. If anyone is interested in how I do it, let me know.

Be careful driving too!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Hello, and to each one of you all and your family. I wish you a very special day tomorrow. To some of us it is a day off work. Or a day to pig out and not feel bad. However, to me it is a day to give thanks to. My God, parents, friends, and relatives alike. And most of all to the real meaning of the day. Some thing you do not see any more. The coming together of total strangers. In addition, each becoming as one. And not judging one or the other. For, maybe if even for one day. We can stop, thank, and forgive others that have done us wrong or have not done things, as we wanted them to. In addition, to reach out a helping hand to someone. Whom we do not even know. And have the same done to us in return someday. That is thanksgiving. And if we can all do it one day. Than maybe the next day will be easier to do it again.
In addition, you can send all left over pies and cakes to me. In return, my wife said she would ship you a real whole turkey in return. Just, as soon as she can get a box. Big enough to put me in.
Enjoy Gene C. and Boss sorry. I meant wife

Susan

Put the finished turkey into a cooking bag. Put about a half of stick of butter into the bag. Seal it up. Turn it upside down (breast meat down) and put it in the cooking pad. Put the lid on. Then cook it at between 175 & 200 degrees. Depending on the size of the bird will depend on the cooking time. But generally add at least 50% cooking time. So if the bird took 5 hours to cook normally, add at about 2 and a half hours. The bird usually browns up in the last 30 to 45 minutes. It usually falls off the bone. So you probably won't be able to carve it too much.

Be patient with it. And don't panic like I did during the first two years I cooked it this way. I've been doing it for almost ten years now. Enjoy!!!!!

Susan make that about 200 degrees. I just opened my notes on it.

Socalgal

I'll save you one. It'll be done by about noon (eastern time) tomorrow. Pumpkin pie (with Cool Whip of course) and sweet potatoes too? What time are you stopping by?

BTW, this turkey is naturely raised and feed with no injections of any kind put into it. Do you still want a piece? hehe

Hi Chainsaw!

lol You can always get an early start you know. Like on the cheese tray with swiss, cheddar, white, yellow cheeses (cut up with the little cubes) on some nice crackers. Now of course there's the fruit salad for desert too. All you have to do is cut up a bunch of bananas, watermelon, peached, apples (cut up right before it's served), pears, pineapple, blue berries, strawberries, etc. and mix them together. Don't forget the vegetable tray with dip in the center too.

Now tell me your not hungry.

Nathan. Your perceived merciless attempts to torture and tempt with your organically-grown, melt-in-your-mouth, butter-basted turkey and delectable sweets smothered with whipping cream have no effect on ... I will not succumb to ... arrrghhh! See you around noon? LOL! /forum/smile.gif

Happy Thankgiving to all.

How many people traveled for the holiday? I just spent the last 12 hours on the road and finally reached my destination at 8:00 pm this evening. This is the first time I've seen my family since I left for college. I'm glad to be home.

Again hope everyone has a great holiday and enjoy the turkey. (or vege turkey)

Thanks Mntsnow. I feel so loved. Could you mail me some food? Oh, I had an idea for cooking turkey. First, take a Celeron 300A, a Soyo socket 370 board and some PC133 Ram. In the bios, set the FSB to 124mhz and the voltage to 2.2, place the turkey on the processor and leave it for a few hours. Alternativly, you could get a Cyrix MII 250mhz, run it at 275mhz at 3.1volts and leave the turkey in for about 5 minutes! lol /forum/smile.gif
