e machine no viedo

got a 533i e machine from office depot it was a return the power switch was broke plug it in comes on but no veido help

I take it your screen is blank. When it boots, hit F8 and start it in safe mode then look in the My Computer, system devices, display ?, to see what is listed. You may have to choose a video type and also monitor type.

thanks for the reply,tried it and does not work.acts like it is getting no signal.mother board problem maybe

There is a jumper on the motherboard
that will enable/disable the onboard video.

Did you buy it as-is, or is there any warranty? If you can, it's best to get them to fix it for you for free.

If not, there are some things you can try, but it's hard to know where to start without some more info. Did the computer ever work? Is the video on-board, or is it on a PCI or AGP card? Are there any beeps when the computer boots? You could try to reseat all the cards, cables, memory, and CPU. Sometimes a loose connection will cause a boot problem.
