I have been curious many times when hearing overclocking success stories, to know about the location and climate. I wonder if people in Alaska have better success at overclocking than people in Hawaii? Do the most system problems show up in Summer? I have seen many posts where someone says that they had great success and just used a standard heat sink and fan, etc. I would really like to know the ambiant temperatures.
Yeh; I notice my system temp is directly related to the room temp, moreso than the number of extra fans I install.

Your case is 2 deg. COOLER than ambient temp??? That is simply amazing!!! /forum/smile.gif Do you have an air-conditioner in there? Are you sure you dont means 2 deg warmer?? /forum/wink.gif
for most of us .. there is nothing in the system that would drop temp, just things that generated heat (consumes watts) hehe. peltiers even generate extra heat within the box...

I miss Wisconsin, I used to put my case next to my window, run extra long cables across the room and run ambient 15f in the winter. In Florida, I put it closer to the windows and it gets warmer! I keep it about 5C below ambient (tons of moving air+under AC vent)

Here in the Frozen North, I just leave my window open all the time so my room ttemp drops to about 15 degrees or so. I'm used to it, and I find it rather comfortable. I hope my Athlon likes it as well when I decide to OC it.
I'm hoping to hit 666mhz (NWARG!!!) by raising the FSB to 111mhz. I hope the AMD 751 chipset can take it.

Just make an overclocking device.

Well, seeing as I'm 16 years of age, and paid $4000 CAN out of my own pocket for this system (not mentioning parts I had previously) I'm not too keen on soldering the PCB or even cracking open the case on this CPU yet. Raising the FSB is all I'm about to do yet.
