I'm trying to make a restore disk with ghost. I kept C drive under 650mb so that I can burn it to a cd. Can someone tell me how? Under FAQ's it says that you can't do it, but I know that some of you do.
I run ghost and only have a choice of partition/disk to partition/disk. Do I use explorer instead?

You have to create the image unto another partition, then you can burn the image onto a CD. Also, it's O.K. if your partition gets bigger than 650mb because Ghost can compress the image and you can make it so that it breaks up the image into smaller pieces letting you span multiple CD's.
Hope that helps.

The split command is

ghost.exe -span -split=xxx

The xxx stands for the size you want the image to be. So say you want it to be 630 MB in size. Then you put in place of the xxx, 630.

This of course is run from a boot disk with Ghost on it. Another option is to get another hard drive, slave it to the other. Once you have your system the way you want it, ghost the image to the other hard drive, and then disconnect it. That way when something messes up in windows, you can restore the image back to what it was before. Don't forget to backup your important files and documents.
