I just installed Partition Magic 5.0 and when i go to start it a messge comes up that says something about "Inition failed, Partition table bad"

does anyone know how i can fix this?

i tried re-installing it but same thing happens.

i dont want to goto the powerquest support because they take to long and I find this way better because sometimes those people at the customer support can be "wierd"

thanks.

What is the exact # that the error gave you. Here is what they saw about error # 100-199
What do I do for errors 100-199?
In many situations, these errors can be fixed by PowerQuest technical support. (It will be necessary to email or fax a PartitionInfo (partinfo) report to a technician.) However a sure way to resolve such problems is to: 1. Backup the offending partitions. 2. Delete them. 3. Recreate them. 4. Restore their contents. You may need to use the FDISK program from a recent DOS version. (Older versions may refuse to delete HPFS or hidden partitions.) The OS/2 FDISK program may recognize the partition's corruption and refuse to modify it.

When I start PartitionMagic 4.0 a dialog box appears reporting Init Failed: 255 or error 986. What's going on and why won't PartitionMagic work on my system?

The error 255 is generally reported when there are partition table errors present on one or more hard drives in the system. These partition table errors can generally be resolved by a qualified PowerQuest Technician. In some cases, it will be necessary to backup the data on the partitions, delete them, and then recreate them.
