From what I've been reading, most s370 cpu's (celerons) have difficulty running stable at 83Mhz; and it is a rare animal indeed if one can run at 100Mhz...

So why do s370 mobos have so many fsb's over 100Mhz? Is it because there were plans to have P3's manufactured in the s370 form factor? Or maybe the next generation celerons are going to be 100fsbs in the near future?

Let me know...thanks all...

I'll have to find the info. on it. but, the new celerons will in fact be 100's they are doing away with the 66's

My Celeron 400 is quite happy on 83MHz.
It's my HDD that gets chewed up, and only if I enable DMA (doh! - see my earlier post)

Mobos that even offer you an FSB switch are a luxury. If Intel had their way, it would be nothing but 66/100. Enjoy it while it lasts!

My old celeron 300 runs fine @ 100fsb. Of course, its not yet in the PPGA form.

Many have tons of speeds between 83 and 100, the tons of speeds just continue a bit. They are not for future celerons, if they even go in as flip chip processors, they would easly go over the tons of fsbs to stuff like 124+.
