my computer was infected by the CIH virus. I only discovered this AFTER I installed norton antivirus. And it will not run the scan... it slowly kills it with auto protect.. but that won't disinfect everything. is there any good way to get rid this virus? any free anti-virus programs online that will get rid of it for me?

My network was infected w/ the CIH. I tried everything, Mcafee, Innoculan, etc. There are only two anti-virus software w/c helped me, Norton Anti-virus 5.0, and super Virus Buster(SuperVB). Probably not heard of the later, it is made in china. If you look at the grammar, its a mess. But kills rather well, though.
Norton's pretty powerful, from my view piont. Just update it to the latest engine and defintions.

I use NAV 5.0 also. Be sure to check that you have the latest inline patch also. (Registered versions only)
This file updates versions 5.00.00, 5.00.01 and 5.00.02 to version 5.01.01. This file is not available through LiveUpdate.
