After only about 15 minutes online IE5 begins to lose toolbars and shrink to the point where under 'File' only the options 'work offline' and 'exit' appear. What's more right clicking to open in new window or save images becomes disabled. Eventually I have to disconnect, reboot, and start again. I ran Resource Meter and this showed 'dangerously low resources' (5%) after a short online session as though all of my 128MB ram had simply evaporated. I'm running P2/350. Help!!!

The things that it could be.

Have you Run, msconfig ?
Have you emptied your Temporary Internet Files folder?
have you emptied your Temp folder?
Does network traffic come into play? Napster isn't helping things in this reguard.
Are you multi-tasking to the point of low resourses?
Have you run a scandisk and a defrag lately? (this is really important if you do a lot of CD burning from MP3's.

There are so many things that it could be that we need a little more information.

When did things start to slow down for instance. Is it after the download of I.E. 5.5 or is it after your little sister got on there for a while unattended?
Inquireing Minds Want To Know!
Cheers!

Is this just common in Win 98 SE???? I don't seem to have any problems with 98. My daughter's has 98SE but doesn't show any of these symptoms and we both have IE5. Do you have all the Microsoft Critical Updates ????
Selct Windows update on your Start/Settings menu and find out. Be prepared for alot of downloading if you don't. We all know Windows
is just one BIG patch!!!
BTW: What in the h*ll is "Bollywood"? Cheers

Thanks for all the advice everyone. As for Bollywood, well it's only the biggest film industry in the world. It's based in Bombay hence the term (Bombay/Hollywood get it?) and it churns out movies by the bucketload usually featuring gorgeous Indian women. You don't know what you're missing!
