Periodic shut downs when using a dial-up connection.

My computer periodically shuts down when I try to dial-up to a university server. I have a lucent technologies modem 56k, on an HP 8260. Thanks

Does it shut down or just restart?? I may have a fix if it 's just restarting. Let me know /forum/smile.gif
