OK, a while ago I installed a second HD. I fdisked it into 2 partitions.
Then I lost my second partition. I tried fdisk/mbr a few times with no luck. So I tried partition magic. It found the empty "space" so I created a partition out of it.
Now the problem: Once in a while when starting the computer Norton Disk Doctor finds a problem with the partition info. If I correct it I loose the partition. If I don't let it fix it it'll come back next time and ask. I can go back and forth forever.
Any ideas?
Back up and fdisk again? I don't want to do that unless necessary.

Use Norton Disk Doctor in Windows. Bypass the option to rebuild it and just let NDD do it's checks(skip surface testing). It should fix it properly. If you rebuild, your data and the partition will be toast, as you said. I found this out the hard way, 3 times http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif So when this happened to my godkid, I did it through Windows and almost every option had "fixed" beside it! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif If it doesn't fix it, something else is corrupting your partition.
