Hi stu,
I recently bought a SCSI Yamaha CRW6416SX and am very satisfied with it. The SCSI aspect is suposed to allow you to surf or play games while using the burner. So far, I have had no problems.

Both of my scsi burners at work are good. I do not recomend Smart&Friendly as ours has fallen apart. We have a Plextor CD-R 8-20 and it is great. I didn't see a huge difference between IDE and SCSI.

I wish to buy a CDRW and am wondering whether to get an SCSI or not. Im not particulalrly bothered about speed etc. I have room for a SCSI card. I run UDMA 66 hard drives through controller cards so I'm not planning to get SCSI drives.

Basically is the extra expense worth it?
