I'm getting a persistant problem with IE5, where (I think) java is not working properly.

Also, sometimes there is an image that won't load and it doesn't matter how many times I refresh the page, it doesn't load.

Any suggestions on a fix?

Thanks,

Jon

Iffin Java disabled, you should get a message anytime you go to a page that contains Java applets.

Anyway, to enable is exactly as kingtubby states.

The picture you refer to may or may not be browser based. If you right click the picture and choose save target as and you can save the file, your browser is bad. If no file exists, then the web page is bad. If the file is loaded through javascript (chekc source), then the scripting or your browser is bad. Script errors are normally shown in the status bar with a little yeller triangle and the error condition.

I saw the same problem on a customers machine and simply updated to IE 5.5 and problem gone. It was that easy. Give it a try. Good luck!

I would use the Internet Explorer repair tool before downloading that problematic 5.5
Get into the Control Panel and into Add/Remove Programs. Double click on Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 and tools.
In the next panel choose to Repair from the options available. Hope this works because a lot of people have been having problems with 5.5
I also had a big problem with the download and eventually just wiped out the machine and started over. Wasn't a lot of fun.
