Yo !

I asked this thing before, and got one schematic, unfortunately the parts were not to be found in Finland, so:

Has anyone builded speed-control to fans ?

What I'm searching for is a circuit wich starts fan in 50% speed, and progressivily (wrong spell, but i'm finnish, You all know M.Hakkinen? ) rises the speed to be 100% at +40'c. I like t do some soldering, so that's not a problem.

It's been a while since I've posted, but it's nice to be back !

Okey, qball, thankz for the ideas, I know it's already done, just looking some other ideas to do it with.

PS: Moved it to OC section... Maybe the CPU cookers have the answers... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

You may be on to a million dollar idea. I don't know anyone who has done this, but it does't seem that difficult. What's more, as things get hotter, the concept is a very sellable one. One should be able to add a thermocouple and variable resistor in such a manner that as the temperature rise so does the voltage. Wish I could remember more of my electrical engineering. Adding logic (jump to 100% at 40c) will require additional embedded systems.

Duh? Check out the overclocker's section, this is more of their thing, and it may be done already.
