I just bought a Creative Labs Blaster 8x4x33x. After I burn a games like StarCraft Brood War or Diablo2 I put the CD in and it just keeps scanning and never works! I use Image writing. I also tried making a music CD and it still does it. I have wasted dozens of CDs. I am using a 50 pack of 700mb/80 min CDrs for $20. I use Nero 5.0. I have a Celeron 300a, 64mb ram. Please help. Thanks!

Sounds like the session is not getting closed
or you are burning it in test mode.Check and make sure the close session option box is checked and the test burn box is not checked.

Make sure that you are buffering and before you begin a session do a defrag. You won't burn up so many CD's

This may seem too simple of an answer but it happened to me. I cleaned the cd. It didn't hang after that.

Is your CDRW installed on a VIA chipset motherboard?

I am a complete newbie, can you explain the buffer stuff and what I should be doing when burning using NERO 5.0.

buffering is a read ahead optimzation that your burner will use so that the information is already organized when it comes to actually make the copy of information. I'm not aquainted with nero but I'm pretty sure it would have it in your options for burning. Look around for options or preferences when you pick the Wizard mode or the type of burn you are doing. I use the Sony Expressa and the Hotburn program and it has the 3 Wizard modes and the non Wizard modes. I use Make A Data CD for backups and Make A Music CD for music. Maybe someone on here knows your program and can give you more detail pertaining to your spacifics. Read your Help files for a lot of information. It is invaluable as it does cost money for all those bad disk burns.
