Now I must admit I know ditto about SCSI.
What I do know is that SCSI-II ultra-wide LVD controllers, hard drives, and raid configs' is probably the fastest thing going out there as far as hard drive performance goes, but correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm lookin' for a drive that can offer average read speeds of about 19mb/s or higher, write speeds of about 18mb/s, with 10,000rpm spindle, and a fairly low cpu utilization. Got any in mind?
As far as controllers go, which company would you recommend I buy from? Adaptec? Tekram? ASUS? By the way, is the card gonna be "plug&play" or will I have to install some kind of driver software and tinker around with the hardware?
I'm planning on using the SCSI drive on a new system with either win98 or win2000 when its out, along with a few games.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
