It might be I just can't remember so please answer some one.:O /forum/frown.gif WW U-96 11-24-1999, 07:38 AM cwizard said it most succinctly in this recent thread... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum7/HTML/000298.html Be aware that there is also a short-term competition running, cracking the CSC encryption scheme. Read Virus's recent stuff in the Distributed Computing forum to get the hard facts. U-96 welsh wizard 11-24-1999, 07:59 AM Thanks U-96 /forum/smile.gif I check this out further see if its open to Non USA personel! WW PS it might prove to be a good way to soak test sys that have been repaired. [This message has been edited by welsh wizard (edited 11-24-1999).] U-96 11-24-1999, 08:17 AM I'm not sure about qualifying for the prize money, but I'm in the UK and have been cracking for over 6months now I think. Other sysopt members are in Latvia and Ireland as I recollect, so no geographic limitation. Indeed the sysopt team has a long-running rivalry with a particular Portuguese team /forum/smile.gif As goes using it to test systems, RC5, along with Prime95, is the app most frequently recommended for burn-in, both putting 100% loads on the CPU. I have no experience of the latter, but the dnet (www.distributed.net) clients are easy to set up and unobtrusive when working normally (though I shut it down for games), and are optimised for a variety of CPUs and OSs. Oh, and Virus does a great job on the sysopt stats/proxy side of things! Welcome to the team ww /forum/smile.gif U-96 SysOpt.com
