Hope someone can help me here.
Tyan 1854s MOBO
INTEL P3 600/133 CPU
300w PS
ASUS V6600 deluxe GeForce Video Card
Asus has a utility that comes with it that checks the video card for heat/voltage, etc. I think it's called SmartDoctor.
The AGP slot is supposed to be supplied with 3.3 volts of power. I've tried several power supplies and the most I can get is 3.2. The alarm goes off when it dips below 3.15 volts. Asus says to call the MOBO manufacturer which I did. They said the MOBO doesn't control that, but the PS supplies power directly to the AGP slot and they advised me to buy a new PS. I did, but no help. I'm wondering if this is a 2.03 spec or something. My PS is 2.01 compatible (it says) but I have no way to check. Is there any way to know how much power the PS is really supplying to the agp slot? The card has never had any problems even when it is not getting enough power.
Any advice? thanks.
