im pretty sure it will work but just wondering if anyone else had any other ideas. my house is almost a century home and the wiring is very bad. my comp is a power hog but my room's power gets weak when other appliances turn on. like i was watching a dvd and my sister turned on the blow drier and wham my whole screen went blank and i lost all my power so i keep having to do scandisk. even when im just typing and someone turns on the vacuum. if i put a power supply in and when my energy goes blank and it kicks in wouldn't it give the other famly members like 5 min. and then when i regain power it charges back and i just repeat the cycle of this a couple times a day. i am so sick of turning of the computer just so someone else can use the vacuum or hair drier or whatever.
thanx

I also have an older home, had an Electrician buddy wire my lan to its own ground rodded ***separate*** circuit, might be a good idea to consult someone knowledgable about whether you need to upgrade your electrical system, at least for safetys sake...

u need to have somebody look at your wiring man

old wires are bad
old wires that behave wierd are even worse

maybe you should get more power comming into the house where do you live
is it a aparment or a house ?
maybe get a generator or something

Yes, a UPS with a battery backup will protect your system during those times that the power gets too low. The battery will kick in when needed, and switch back to normal power when there is enough voltage.

You really should take care of the real problem though.

Your drop to the home is most likely 50A or 100A. I would see about getting at least a 200A drop. Also have your wiring checked.

This should take care of the problem.
