I've spent the last 6 hours trying to get this card to work. BT have said
the newly installed Home highway line is fine so it must be a config
problem.

I have a P-IN100-ST-D Asuscom and Pipex dial up account.

I can connect (sometimes it takes me a few tries) and then I get disconnect
5 seconds or so later. The logs state I am having a Fatal Chip error.

On the occasions when I fail to connect, I get the following:

Error 629: You have been disconnected from the computer...

The icon in my system tray shows 3 red lights.

Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

Sorry - you have a pretty rare item there - There aren't too many people on ISDN - most are going cable or ADSL these days.....

Best bet - contact ASUS - smells like you got a bad card.

Well I don't live in the UK but I do have ISDN.. I had a similar problem with my ISDN line and called tech support for my ISDN TA and got no results and called the Telco and they tested the line turns out the card they installed in the SLC(subscriber line carrier) had gone bad and had to be replaced.. call your telco and ask them to test the line also most ISPs don't offer very reliable ISDN access.

Just a few thoughts.

Sadly, being in the UK is slightly different.

ISDN is in the minority and ADSL isn't even available yet!

Pretty **** frustrating if you ask me.

Also, unmetered access has only just arrived.
