I just bought an Elsa Erazor X (GeForce, 32MB SDRAM). Due to unknown problems the system crashes after a few minutes of 3D gaming or benchmarking. In 2D it is rock stable.
I thought it might have something to do with the power supply ?!

Hi,

There is nothing wrong with your PSU.

The BX2000 can not sustain the 3.3v required by the GeForce.
Check your board revision. I believe you need rev 2.0 at least. On these boards, there is a "special" jumper (called the voodoo jumper... not sure) - check the user manual.

Close that jumper (if you have it) and you should be OK !

BTW: I had the same problem: a BX2000 with a GeForce. Unfortunately, the board was revision 1.0..
So, I sent back the GeForce and bought a G400MAX instead !

One last thing: you do not need a Voodoo II with a GeForce...

A GeForce is 100000x faster than a Voodoo II

First of all, thanx for your advise. I guess I'll have to check out my board's revision. It must be about 9 months old, so I don't know exactly.
I let the Voodoo inside because some (older) games only offer glide acceleration which the GeForce doesn't support. Anyway, in UT, for example, the Voodoo isn't much slower because this game is Glide optimated.

Hm, well, unfortunately my Board is revision 1.1, so it doesn't support 3.3V on the AGP port.
I guess I have to buy a new one. What about the Abit BP6?

Sorry to hear that...
Trust me, I know exactly how you feel...

BP6, dunno, never used it...
Check www.bp6.com (http://www.bp6.com) .

Good luck

Thanks, Stan.
I've checked out bp6.com and motherboards.com and they say the AGP is run at 3.3V optionally.
Seems this is my baby.

Yeah, but it seems like the new Celerons do not support SMP, eh?
