Great job RL! I too have cut my cables down and made them round. (even did my 68pin scsi cables!) and it really helped the air flow in my towercase also. I would post pictures of it but I dont have a digital camera (Maybe Santa will bring one to me for X-mas as I HAVE been a good boy!..really dear I Have! /forum/biggrin.gif)
I will have to see if I have any polaroid film when I get home as I do have a scanner!

to make em round, i cut the cables apart (each individual wire) the put the in wire loom and then wraped in tape, i dropped 3*c case temp, but when you cut th wires, be very carefull not to cut into the wire, and if you do then fix it

That helped a lot, now i gatta fix my cables up. Another question i have.. Its not very good to have a cpu temp of 80°f is it? i see you guys with temps of 44°f .. why is mine so high? i have a good heatsink + fan what gives?

all of my cut cables are in wire loom (like you can see at the pic of my cd rom) lit looks like a bunch of thin wires going into the conectors

hmm.. i took one of my old cables.. i cut it into sections of 5 wires i stacked them up and used black electrical tape to hold them. The end still have grey showing. about 1.5 to 2 inches then its solid black tape. i know it might be hard to visualize.. but does it sound like i did it right?

you need to cut EACH little wire apart from the rest, so you have alot of individual wires

Anyone know where you can buy cables made round instead of flat?

Clay Autery (cautery) at The Cable Store did custom make round cables and sold them at a VERY reasonable price. I believe he has gone out of business due to health problems.
He might still be able to help you out with round cable needs if you can locate his profile at AnandTech Forums.

Mines not quite as nice as yours rl but it's still much better than it was before. I wish I would have taken a before picture.

mntsnow...
I got it off of www.hardocp.com (http://www.hardocp.com) , but they do not have it anymore and it did not give any details about the machine, but i would assume he either has a 400W or has multiple power supplies. It would sure keep air moving through the case though :0

I not only tape all my ide cables but all the power supply wires to, every wire or cable in my case is wrapped /forum/smile.gif

Neat and effective.
I only use tape for IDE ribbons and the all the wires. My case is a bit messy, compared to yours.
Thanks for the ideas...
